Shuttleworth 60 Spit and Corsair

Post by DILLIGAF1 » Sat Dec 07, 2024 10:13 pm

Two fantastic aircraft which attended the Shuttleworth 60 Airshow this year were Vought F4U-5NL Corsair based at Jean-Baptiste Salis Airfield, built by Sikorsky in 1951, previously serving in the Honduran AF before being sold into various civilian hands. Exported to France in 1986 and was rebuilt between 2007 to 2018 and flew again that year. Currently wears the markings of VC-3 US Navy.

Supermarine Spitfire FR Mk XIVe RM927 represents a Spitfire Mk XIV of the Canadian No 430 Squadron with the code X. . Built in November 1944, the Spitfire FR Mk XIVe RM927 was delivered to the Royal Air Force in January 1945. First flight after restoration was carried out on July 5, 2022 at Sywell Airfield in the United Kingdom with Richard Grace at the controls. It has been based in La Ferté-Alais since August 5, 2022.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks for sharing these with us, nice to see. A couple of warbirds I'd not seen (yet).
