Woodford over the years

These scans aren't mine but I have been asked to post them on behalf of Newey2448. He has a campaign to have a farewell airshow at Woodford and he thought these photos might bring back some memories.

The Beriev was in 1993 (having just appeared at the Paris Air Show, I believe). Here are a couple of shots, together with one of a Su-27 which was also there. Happy days! But the weather (as you can see) was terrible...

Wish I had seen the Beriev but as I was only 2 in the Summer of '93 I doubt I remember it. It was actually at Woodford airshow '99 that my interest in aviation started. I found out that my friend's uncle was Red 2 and we got to meet them after the display and I shook hands with Dicky Patrounas and ever since then I've been hooked.

Lovely memories of a long forgotten show. Admittedly I didn't always attend the show, merely opting to catch the Friday arrivals at the Poynton end.
