G-VFWE 2010 - Sunday

Post by POL » Mon May 10, 2010 2:00 pm

I believe the Sunday was the better of the two days, so here's a few photos.

First up, a spirited display by the Dak;

And then all of a sudden it was 1430 and everybody had to leave. oh fudge, since when did we have to be out before 1500?!

And then from outside the static park (Having taken all of the above on the move trying to avoid the "security"!)

Although I'm not one to moan about airshows, in fact I don't think I've ever complained about a show before, I'd just like to add (I'm not sure if the organisers read here or not?) that we were not the only ones unhappy with the sudden decision to kick everyone out. I managed to speak to one of the "security" staff, he said it was a last minute decision, and they'd rather have waited until 1500 before asking people to leave. Maybe next year the pilots who want to leave before the 1500 departure time can have their aircraft parked elsewhere, rather than in the middle of the static park, meaning it can stay open for the published length of time :)

So, that's my moaning done, I don't want to be seen as 'having a go' because I didn't get the photos I wanted, I'm thinking more of the show itself, and the amount of unhappy people there were leaving.

Anyway, good participation, half-decent weather and a pretty decent flying display to boot. Roll on next year :)

C&C welcome,
Chris

Some rather tasty shots there Chris,I can't believe they kicked everyone out at 14.30-that's ridiculous !

If anyone's wondering,G-VFWE stands for Great Vintage Flying WEekend which is held at Kemble,Gloucestershire.

Certainly was - is there a competition for the most cryptic thread title running?

It's not cryptic at all Rob,that's what the event's called-google it (I did :lol: :lol: ).It was,funnily enough,called "G-VFWE 2010" this year.

Ah, I see - I didn't Google it but I did go as far as typing it into "G-INFO".

You've got to admit that we have had some pretty cryptic thread titles recently hence my post.

Some interesting photos there - I like the Chippie in particular ... ... ... I've got a huge soft spot for Chippies.

This could be considered cryptic too, when simply viewing the title topic? - viewtopic.php?f=296&t=10308&p=54926#p54926" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

All post titles are subjective. What means something to one poster may not mean anything to another and there in we have fantastic variety.
