Tyndall Air Show 2009

Hi everyone, I have just got around to re-editing my pictures for the first time in over a decade from Tyndall air show 2009. I only attended the Saturday show which was postponed until lunchtime due to adverse weather. A very limited flying display started mid afternoon with an F-15C, followed by an F-22A. The only other act was the Blue Angels which closed the show, during the Blues taxiing back, the sun came out and the show closed, typical. It is still a good memory made all the better with the mates I travelled with. I will start with a few of the static aircraft before the flying started, and will finish the thread with some of the same static shots, just to give you an idea.

When we arrived at the base in the morning and were turned away, we walked down the perimeter fence. Not a bad view awaited us (I was a bit excited to see these).

We finally got access to the show, the weather was pants. On the plus side, no more than a hundred people braved the weather on the Saturday, so not many people in the pictures of the static aircraft.

As I photographed Blue Angel number 1, number 2 was alongside and the wing just about cleared our heads as it went over us. The crowd line was quickly moved back another 50ft.

Well the weather was bad to say the least, but you still got some great pics, do like the taxing 15 and 22 with the spray underneath.

Excellent set mate, loving the bow-waves on the F-15 & F-22.
