Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
Thanks for sharing these, it's a shame that more bases don't organise these sort of events anymore.
Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
They were ruined by some on this forum that grabbed free seats ofered by the bases, and then sold them :-(
Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
I found out about this day too late, I'd love to see the bigger RAF kit a bit closer than normal. Nice photos BTW
Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
My understanding is that Threshold Aero working with RAFA are hoping / planning to offer photoshoots on other bases in the future.Mustang531 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 2:59 pmThanks for sharing these, it's a shame that more bases don't organise these sort of events anymore.

Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
Quick question on RAF A400Ms...has there been much in the way of actual mission deployment?, I've only ever seen them doing UK flights that were obviously training sorties
Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
Anything with a four-number callsign is an "actual mission deployment", of which there have been hundreds if not thousands over the life of the Atlas C1 so far.

Ah the great A400M - surprised you managed to get one with its propellors.
Long live Fat Albert!!

Very nice photos.
I've not caught up with any comments before about people selling their free tickets before. It's a shame, especially if it could affect future events.
On the C-17, is the number 060205 below the British serial number an American reference?

Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
Yes, its the USAF serial.
Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
Name and shame them.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
Re: 99 Squadron photoshoot RAF Brize Norton
Pune, I think if you Google "Shawbury visit", or such words on this, or especially the previous FC forum, which was in use then, the names and the subject will be easy to retrieve. Mark, who was the admin clerk at Shawbury, fought a hard fight to stop them, almost until the day he died.
Leeming and Valley suffered different problems, but a situation which to this day stops public visits and ensures only the local group members attend.
