This photo was taken on the Friday at 2024's Warbirds over Wanaka airshow. As a long time attendee this years show was one of the all time best. The weather on Saturday and Sunday was amazing, but as you will see from my photo the weather on Friday was rather gloomy.

Unfortunately for me, at the start of day 2 my camera decided to give up and after 16 years of service. After countless airshows and overseas trips, my trusty canon 450d is no more. Unfortunately it seems to be a sensor cover issue, so while potentially fixable, it seems the sensor hood may have damaged the sensor when it ceased to function.

So of the few photos I managed to take on Friday, this is one of the better ones. While not up to the quality of the photo's usually posted here, I thought the subject may be appreciated.

EDIT: Added a 2nd photo which may be of interest. From every angle, the Mosquito looks exactly like what you would expect a Mosquito to look like. So happy I got to see this aircraft fly.

Absolutely nothing wrong with those. I do miss the Mosquito over here in the UK. Sorry to hear about the camera. Hope you can either get it fixed or replace it.

Great to see another Mossie flying, means the FBIV for Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar is one step closer. I've been asking on a few forums about that colour scheme, silver with D-Day stripes. It seems the owner wanted it to be RNZAF and commemeorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, so perhaps the srtipes will be removed in the future.

One theory is that the RNZAF markings will be removed once it lands in the USA and a D-Day themed scheme will replace it.

Thanks for the kind words team. The photos on this forum are an inspiration to me and part of the reason I lowered the shutter speed and tried to nail panning.
