What bases in the UK hold photoshoots?
What bases in the UK hold photoshoots?
Hi everyone,
I've been wondering if any bases in the UK hold any sort of photoshoot.
If anyone has any info please post it below.
Also I'm not entirely sure what thread I should be posting this question in.
Thanks

Hi Starbuck
I think Northolt is the most frequent... sorry I can not give you more details but I`m sure there are a few of the other guys on here that will be able to help you further.
Over to you guys.
Regards.

Northolt has two per year. Markham has (had?) them fairly infrequently. There has also been the odd events at Coningsby, Odiham and Brize.

Re: What bases in the UK hold photoshoots?
Marham is my local base and they have emailed me with "We do not have any plans to hold an Enthusiasts Day this year."
Not had much luck with Lakenheath, I'd love to go and shoot at either or both USAF bases.
I'll have to drop a message to the RAF bases mentioned and see what I get back.

I did the autumn one last year, my first 'night-shoot', really enjoyed it.
Couldn't make the one so far this year, and not sure if there will be one later (runway being resurfaced?)
Tripod essential, long exposure times, but I got some cracking pics!
I went via Heathrow to get some commercial shots too.

Marham already held 2 this year, and would be very surprised if they held any more (other than families day) going forwards with the security of the F-35.Starbuck wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 9:15 pmMarham is my local base and they have emailed me with "We do not have any plans to hold an Enthusiasts Day this year."

RAF bases in generally tend not to hold photoshoots that often - If you Google 'Timeline Events' they often organise the occasional photoshoot i.e. Odiham, but generally RAF don't do them. Maybe keep an eye on Coningsby, they are hosted by COAP (Centre of Aviation Photography)
Again, MH & LN don't old photoshoots, more of a base tour unfortunately, but they are getting much harder to come by.
In general, bases don't tend told photoshoots as such really unfortunately.
