Thinking of this Sigma lens, not sports version. Any comments on it please or alternatives at around the 450 mark

Cracking lens, very fast and very sharp. Quality lump of a lens. Had a canon version for a few years.

When this lens first came out I read a review that said it was sharper than the Mk1 Canon 70-200/2.8L non IS at wider apertures.
