Anyone know whether it is possible to display photo (file type .heic) taken on an iphone on a Windows PC (file type .jpeg?)

Haven't tried the codec, but the mostly excellent IrfanView claims to support HEIC/HEIF via either an open third-party codec or the MS codec(s).

I have used online-convert a lot. It is free up to certain limits. Check the main page but heic to jpg is shown at

I just get my wife to send her iPhone pictures to my Samsung on WhatsApp, then download from my phone to the pc. Easy, even for me.

Doesn't WhatsApp shrink everything to 1200px? Better to send full Res by email.
