Taking pictures is now "Togging", a photographer a "Togger" and a professional photographer is a "Protog".
Anyone else dislike this or am I just too old and crusty for my own good?

It's just a term that has developed, abit like birdies are called Twitchers. I quite like it, Togging sounds ok. Better than Anorak, nerd etc
But again everyone to there own, it is like jets, all have official name and nickname -Tornado/Tonka, Typhoon/Tiffie, hawk/scooter etc etc
Roll with is Goose!

No it is not Mark, it's more of the fact people cannot spell Photographer.
Togger sounds like one of those night time lay-by watchers
Not a fan of the name and would not liked to be labeled with the said name.

Yeah but.. FBI or CIA is an acronym or one of the civil service favorites, TLA (Three letter acronym..) Togger, really isn't an acronym in any sense of the word..
Lay-by watcher... Theres a very famous lay-by in my neck of the woods (so i'm told. Cough cough..)

Thought everyone knew wot a TOG was .... Sure it had been trademarked some 20 years ago . Guess you are all too young to have listened to Radio 2 or the ''Light Programme '' .
Guess I was one of '' Terry's Old Geezers '' before I retired . But Sir Terry Wogan is occasionally still on the airwaves , 'tho I did miss him when he came on the Archers .. lost reception on 198 khz about Copenhagen way whilst East bound

Not to mention "brutal banter", a phrase that I am totally sick of - not to mention "Tiffie" (as mentioned before) - how do you get Tiffie out of Typhoon ?
