Caernarfon Airworld museum 4-8-15

Visited Caernarfon Airworld Museum for a Hunter what I needed while on the way back from RAF Valley.

A small but interesting museum- lots of local WW2 history to read about - £6.50 to get in and you cant see anything from outside.

According to the curator, Hunter XL618 which was outside has been sold to Newark museum some 18 months ago

XL618 moved to Newark on 19th June 2014 and is actually on loan as mentioned in here viewtopic.php?f=130&t=99684

Dismantled around the side 2 weeks ago was a Jindvik A92-740.

Exported to UK.
Delivered without Engines and major components.
RAF Serial Not allocated.
Lost 27/06/95, 89 flights.

Mr D - The tail feathers are definately as quoted - but I think some of the other components may be from a later machine...?
Did you look from the Fire Exit Door or walk past the shed and look back to it?

The Curator at the museum said that the remains were from two Jindviks that at some point would be assembled in to one drone. It didn't look as if they were in massive hurry.

I haven't decided if I count drones.

808 did have a UK mil serial !

I visited the museum in August 2010, at which time there were quite a few Jindivik components inside the museum but I didn't notice any outside (but I could have missed them). Three semi-aligned fuselage sections (including rear fuselage marked "A92-740") were on display below/forward of the Javelin nose section, but not all from the same airframe. Other parts were below the Vampire.
