Still struggling to find them on the scanner, anyone had any luck this year?
Scanner or FR24? I've noticed a few on FR24. And I'm more than likely out of range of listening to any on the scanner as I'm in West Lothian, and haven't set up the outdoors scanner aerial yet. I'm working on it. If you're listening to the scanner, 121.205 amplitude modulation is your best bet for tonight.

Tonight is the final one. Yes I'm heading to the usual place. Looks ok so far, but after the wee hours drooking and dodgy weather not that long ago, I'm sceptical but determined! What lengths some of us will go to for planes!!! :D
Well that's PLANE to see!

You both beat me too it as I was typing! Level with Aberdeen, heading towards Ballater.

Just about to tuck into my free Belgian Bun from Lidl, with a cup of tea. Feels more the thing to do tonight. :P

Looks like it'll be hanging around a bit, seeing as it's taking a direct route towards the area around Dunbar. They could have had time for a cuppa themselves before take-off. :D

More like a Pos-hide-on then
More true than you knew: FR24 lost it just as it turned to start its holding pattern. Not on Flight Aware or Plane Finder.

Far too dark, bang on with the frequency. Thunderbolt 01, lots of chatter about fireworks/flares.

Heard it go past. FR24 picked it up again from Cramond. Now heading due north from Queensferry.

Well it was very fast moving as it galloped past my window - could have been flying.

I'll say that my video filming was a lot more successful than I thought! However, I had a pyrotechnics display behind me to the North of the airport, and it stopped as the P8 was banking to its right to head back north. I did hear the control tower ask about the alleged sightings of flares. Anyway, a great night, even if it was just mostly navigation and marker lights with a slight silhouette! I'm happy to have filmed it. And, got home just as it started to hammer down with rain! ( In trouble with my Mrs, I left muddy footprints on the hall carpet  ,, put kitchen roll over offending areas, will clean it up tomorrow)
Well that's PLANE to see!

Wondering if those pyrotechnics you caught were causing all the bangs I heard out in South Queensferry tonight, around 9.20pm ish? Looked over toward the Bridges before I left the area, & assume the aircraft lights I saw heading North over Fife, looked to be following the M90, possibly the Poseidon?

That was certainly the route it took, immediately west of the bridges then due North.

Hi Vandal! Yes, they were most likely the fireworks you heard as that was the time they were set off! And as 109sqn mentioned, it was indeed the Poseidon taking that route.
Well that's PLANE to see!

No quite relating to the Flypasts but it is a Tattoo related question, Do Edinburgh Airport recieve many visitors connected to The Tattoo itself? Like Transport Planes with Performers and Equipment....?
