70thAnniversary 67th SOS(ARRS)flypast

Post by dfsspotter » Thu Jun 09, 2022 4:36 pm

Did anyone see the flight of 4 USAF Super Hercules (Commandos) flying over Scotland on 1st June 2022 ? They were overflying their old bases including close to Prestwick after low level flying at the Mach Loop, the Lake District and a flypast at Dumfries and Galloway Aviation Museum. Reported over Loch Doon and Loch Ness before flying down east coast to overfly Sculthorpe before returning to base at Mildenhall

I think this was just a low level training exercise as their 70th anniversary isn't until later in the year :- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/67th_Spec ... s_Squadron

I'm really no sure what this has to do with Edinburgh though! :S

Maybe because they actually did fly quite close to Edinburgh on their way sooth? :P

I was lucky enough to catch them over Dundee and having had to actually do the first part of my job title for once, the sight fair cheered me up!
