What are likely to be the best spots for photographing the Reds' departure from Edinburgh tomorrow? Obviously, it depends on which runway direction they use so I'd be checking earlier departures online before heading there. I've never actually tried the Showground as a vantage point and I don't know what would be accessible at 10am.

My defaults otherwise would be the M9 footbridge for westerly departure or near the approach lights off Lennymuir for easterly departure. I'd be cycling there so no time to make a dash for it if I pick the wrong spot! I'd prefer not to be shooting through fencing but it's not a dealbreaker. If there's any doubt the Showground areas won't be accessible, I'd probably be going for my default locations unless there's a better option.

Who told the haar that The Red Arrows were due to visit? I'll bet the visit is cancelled. Typical Edinburgh crap weather. At least the spectators at The Tattoo won't get 'drookit' for a change. The folks next week won't be so lucky.
