Fantastic, we may not be seeing them over Ayr This Year but next best thing is them doing a Flypast over Edinburgh Castle for The Tattoo. Let’s hope The Weather Gods play ball!!!??

Although I'm grateful (weather permitting etc) that The Red Arrows are to perform a Flypast of Edinburgh Castle in August, other than appearing at Portsoy in June, there are (thus far) no other appearances scheduled in Scotland this Season, & The Reds are 60 this year.

Ironically, the Forth Road Bridge was opened 60 years ago this year too (4th September 1964) - I would have thought that would be worthy of a Flypast too, unless they 'double up' & do it on the same night as the Tattoo, as in early September, they are in Canada.

I was at the opening of the Forth Road Bridge in 1964 and the planned flypast by Lightnings from Leuchars was cancelled due to low cloud. My brother managed to get Richard Dimbleby's autograph though!
