RAF Pumas

I have seen a Puma or even Pumas over the house at various times in south east Edinburgh today. I have only seen and heard them and can't give any further details of the aircraft. I assume they are the ones that are currently based at Leuchars.
Would they be on exercise for the army barracks in Edinburgh and Midlothian?
