This hobby has brought me so much happiness over 25 years.

We saw them take off this morning and then heard what had happened, We had hoped that it was a training exercise.

It was an eerie feeling when the 3 returned to base and the realisation started to hit home what had happened.

RIP.

A sobering reminder that what many think must be one of the best jobs in the world also has the potential to ask the ultimate price.

What a sad day. I’ve followed today’s events in here and in the better news outlets & I was hoping for good news but as the hours went on I like many on here feared the worst. I had the privilege to visit the base last year & I was struck by how friendly & caring the USAF personnel were both to us & each other. Though it’s a big base it seemed to me that a lot of people knew each other so I can only imagine that today’s news & events will hit them very hard. I hope this airman, whoever he is is blasting his way full throttle to a better place tonight. My heart goes out to his family & colleagues.

Dreadfully sad event today. An absolute tragedy for family, friends and colleagues. My thoughts are with them. I suppose we often forget the danger our airmen and airwomen are exposed to every day.

RIP

Chris
