How on earth does all that help the global warming problem? I don't suppose all the climate protesters will walk or bike! The only people it helps are the money grabbing accommodation owners. Oh and spotters too.

Another thing I forgot to mention:

The RMT have voted for strike action at ScotRail for the duration of the event.

Heard that POTUS will be arriving at PIK on 1st November after a trip to Rome beforehand. Seems a little odd for him to not be there on the day the summit begins.
Nonetheless, probably won’t be long until the support flights begin to arrive!

The summit lasts 2 weeks, only a few days of it is the world leaders meeting, so would expect Biden etc to only hang around for a few days of the overall event. Have seen Nov 6/7th as the leaders meeting.. but now also Nov 1/2?.. anybody know the actual date? Thanks.

There is speculation that he might arrive at Edinburgh with the aircraft then moving to Prestwick afterwards.

This was is the Scotsman a few day's ago..

The President of the USA, Joe Biden, will attend the COP26 summit in Glasgow, it has been confirmed.

US President Joe Biden has confirmed his attendance at COP26.
In a statement the White House confirmed that President Biden and the First Lady, Jill Biden, will visit Glasgow for COP26 on November 1 and 2.

It will also follow a trip to the Vatican on October 29 where the President will meet with Pope Francis, followed by a two day official visit to Rome for the G20 leader’s summit.

Nothing of any substance or worth in 30-odd posts! The usual then in the mess.

So....
1/ the Leader's Summit in Glasgow is Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd November.
2/ EGPF / EGPH and EGPK will be used for arriving aircraft for the event.
3/ some of those attending the Leaders Summit will be arriving in Central Scotland from Rome late on Sunday 31st October and Monday 1st November given the G20 Summit over the weekend.

That'l be Prestwick, Edinburgh and Glasgow then!. Not sure why people can't use the proper names. Many of us understand the code, but I guess there are some youngsters who don't?. Or is it just more clever to use code rather than names? :S :S

From the forum rules (top of index page if you need to refer):

"19 - The use of ICAO and IATA codes purely as a means of identifying a location is formally not allowed. Those who wish to include ICAO and IATA codes along with airfield names please feel free, but as previously stated, the name of the airfield must be included first. Tacan beacon identifiers can still be used in the monitoring section as part of an airway but not the airfield itself."

I saw one post the other day with SNN as an airfield identifier. Silly me thought this was Stansted, turns out it was Shannon. Close, same planet! EMA was another one that had me baffled for a while.
