🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦

All aircraft with VIPs to land at RAF Brize Norton (which is secure) and discharge the passengers for welcoming committee.

Land transport in secure convoys to embassies and or hotels.

Empty aircraft to be dispersed to secure military airfields until required.

VIPs travelling on commercial flights to go to Stansted and land convoy as above.

😉 now, as to the detailed planning…
Is there a source for this? :thumb:

And are there regular commercial flights from the far flung corners of the commonwealth flying into Stansted?

This is a thread about the Queen's Funeral visitors. It will be on 200 pages by the time we get there !! Can we not just have confirmed arrivals as per the very useful message ? Most since have been pointless
Yes, the ramblings of folk with nothing else to do are annoying. When you have some concrete movement news you can use your keyboard. Until then DESIST.
At last a post that makes logical sense 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Made me chuckle... think it’s only me that cannot wait for all this to be over

Probably easier to list who won't be there

Basically every leader will either be there or represented to pay their respects and glad hand the new Monarch .
The BBC News have just released a statement from the FCDO that the only countries whose head of state have not been invited are Russia, Belarus and Myanmar. While Iran will only be represented by their ambassador to the court of St James's.

The BBC report reads..

Representatives from Russia, Belarus and Myanmar have not been invited to the State Funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II, according to Whitehall sources.

And the Islamic Republic of Iran will be represented only at ambassadorial level.

Officials are expecting about 500 foreign dignitaries to attend in what they say is the biggest diplomatic gathering hosted in the UK for decades. They compared it to organising 100 state visits in a few days, when normally there are only a couple of such visits each year.

The heads of state will be allowed to bring one other person only. Such are the expected numbers that most of the guests will be bussed into Westminster Abbey from a location in west London. Some exceptions – such as US President Joe Biden – are expected to be allowed to travel separately for security reasons.

The King and Queen of the Netherlands will come, but also princess Beatrix (the Kings mother), so 3 persons. As was revealed in press release.
Could be Beatrix travels on personal title, as the royal families also have friendly relationship.

Beatrix was of course Queen for 33 years, so I am sure that will be an exception.

I understand the north side of Stansted now has a police check point by the entry to it. All cars are being stopped to confirm they have a legitimate reason for access. I don’t know if it’s in for the duration of the funeral or just a few hours but it’s only normally in place when there are high profile movements.

@STN RAMP RAT, do you have an idea if this means "business park" onto First Avenue?
Or even further up, on Bury Lodge Lane?

Not sure but it’s usually just after the turn into the north side by pink elephant parking … just by the No enthusiasts sign.

Considering half the countries spotters and a fair few I know from Europe will be descending on STN, and knowing there is room for about 20 cars where they prefer you to go to, is there any parking anywhere near ??

From “conversations” at Northolt last night it seems as they will be busy, with most civil traffic restricted and more aircraft parking available in addition to the main south side stands! One bit of info heard from several people is that there may be a “helicopter shuttle” between both Northolt and Brize/Farnborough for those using the larger aircraft! Assume similar to what used to happen during Farnborough air show week!
Talking to the local police on the night, it seems that some of them will be on duty around Northolt for several days hence! Reading between the lines, this could tie in with Alf’s post above regarding dignitaries being bussed in from a location in west London. Having watched how many SEG motorcycle police were involved , and how well they both planned and handled the vehicle convoys out of Northolt into Central London last night, it seems likely that Northolt will play a big part over the coming days!

Was just trying to make light of a crap situation that will be caused by the police not actually knowing what to do with the cars that are turning up! I'll be in the same situation as you, I'm heading down from Burnley on Monday so will be hoping something more concrete is sorted by then...

Stansted is connected by rail directly to Birmingham New Street, Norwich and London Liverpool Street. Might be worth leaving the car at home and letting the train take the strain.
