U2 and Fire trucks

Post by Pune » Wed Jun 10, 2015 10:29 am

Hi Guys and Gals,
Does anyone know why the U2 was greeted at Fairford with the Firetruck shower, so much speculation around, maybe someone does know the real reason.
Cheers
Pune
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

that sort of salute is usually for a pilots final mission, flight, or Command!

According to the pilot outside 027 this morning, it was his last flight.

Pune, I discovered this USAF site https://www.dvidshub.net/video/409018/p ... YRj9WfH-00 which gives the details and some more info here https://www.dvidshub.net/news/166292/pa ... YRjSWfH-01. This site has some really good stuff on it if you spend the time searching it. Quite a lot of recent stuff from Fairford
Edit
Here is another one on U-2 ops https://www.dvidshub.net/video/342482/o ... YRn-WfH-00
