The gate guardians were knackered when I saw them last close up and didnt have any relationship with the site. I believe that the F100 was a French Air Force example repainted to USAF colours

The F-100D was ex-AdlA 42212/11-MN and arrived at Sculthorpe on 06/01/1976. It was on the gate at Sculthorpe in June 1978 (in French markings) when I first saw it and looked a bit weather worn then.

It looks a lot smarter than the Wethersfield gate version of "Triple Zilch" when I saw that!!
By the way, was that you I spoke to in John's Field when the SD F-16s were in - Darren and mate who had to get back to "a certain racecourse place" (seeing as you don't seem to want to publish your location)?
