The whole procession was over and above, every Service person weather on parade or a route marker should take great pride in themselves, although I do have to say the Mass Pipes and Drums were exceptional(it’s not often I say a good word about todays services).

Totally agree with Thunder. I posted earlier that I would not be watching the funeral, as a none believer I would have felt a bit hypocritical, however, I did watch all the rest and took great pride in being British. No other country in the world can do ceremonial like we do. Well done to EVERYBODY involved, and a special thankyou to everybody behind the scenes of such a magnificent and faultless occasion.

Re: Queen's Funeral visitors thread.
raptor8 I shudder to think what behind the scenes bit would be.When theE 45 Commando boys do the Freedom of Town parade in Arbroath cable cabinets, access to poles and wall boxes are restricted and the underground access points are sealed .That is only over about 600 yds max and only telephones .Think about Gas electrictiy water and other things that could cause trouble if a big bang happened then multiply it from Balmoral to Edinburgh Then Northolt to Windsor and you see the behind the scenes for one part of logistical nightmare. We watched the coffin go past from Forfar and there were a couple thousand people there (only respect from every one)and loads of sensible stewards and police personnel. What puzzled me was on the other side of the carriage way ther were as many security people The only way to hit Her Majesty was over the reservation.Assuming the guy next to me could hit a barn door with a banjo why the people on the other side ,all roads led to where we were .Except the northbound .I would agree with your thanks to everybody.Even Apollo wouldnt have got to the moon without cleaners.
