Sorry but usual BBC Flypast coverage - Rubbish, Big Jets TV were better! Hugh Edwards completely missed the C-17 and A-400 refering to the Poseidon and Rivet (Joint!) Oh and that was a Phenom and 4 Texans...........

Also looked to me like 2 F-35s and 2 Typhoons with one of the Voyagers? According to the ever accurate BBC there was 1 Typhoon and 1 Lightning!?....

As always, a highly spectacular and professional effort by the RAF, and all the troops in London.
Don't forget all the techies and support staff either. Well done and many thanks to you. As always, such a spectacle makes this old git proud to be British.

PS:
How long before all the troops on parade get live rounds in their rifles? Just to keep the things balanced of course......

If you want to start nit-picking the BBC's coverage then I suggest you start with spelling Huw Edwards' name correctly.

At least BJTV kept his gob shut during the flypast as he knew that his recognition skills regarding military aircraft are extremely limited and wanted to avoid the embarrassment.

Didn't know he could keep his gob shut. :) All this angst about reporters!. Far worse things happen. Get over it. It's not a perfect world and never will be. At least we know what's what aviation wise!. Edwards was not helped by aT.V Director that kept chopping and changing. What he was seeing, and what the Director was seeing was probably slightly different??

Everyone had three choices:-

1. Hit the mute button

2. Hit the change channel button

3. Switch the TV off

PLMC. Exactly!. Even BJTV guy [an aircraft enthusiast] is not confident enough with his recognition, so what chance perhaps had Mr. Edwards got with his probably limited knowledge. Give the guy a break!!. He is trying to do a live broadcast that none of us [probably] has ever done.

🇺🇦 🌻 🌻

The tv coverage looked splendid to us. Two lots of Typhoons returned almost overhead RAF Wittering; the Lancaster did a splendid circuit around Melton Mowbray and the BBMF fighters were near Stamford.

All too far from an empty Cottesmore to be seen of course.

No complaints as we saw the real action years ago😉

There are some absolutely horrendously & shameful Youtube vid's out there! No 'official' list/diagram for the participants was provided to my knowledge & even then it would have been subject to no IFE incidents on the final run-in. It's highly likely that in all other televised shows that we are NOT experts in :O they are packed full of erroneous info' & commentary? ;) Best to not have a heart-attack over such minor details IMO.

I didn't go to London after all but I thought it was pretty special watching 2x 8 ship recoveries to Coningsby with a 10-15 second interval between typhoons and not a single overshoot. The kind of Professionalism expected from the Royal Air Force so one shouldn't be surprised.

PS in a pub in Surrey and there is a full size cardboard cut out of the Queen standing by the bar - it's a bit weird to be honest

Oh no! People are taking selfies with 'Her Majesty'
