And a pair of 2 TWU Hawks that had a mid air in 1983, which I believe was also Iraqi trainees, was that treason?

But that was a contract here with the Iraqi"s . Nothing to do with former UK mil pilots training potential adversaries in a foreign country.
Re: China's armed forces recruiting dozens of British ex military pilots
If this is as stated then it is morally reprehensible
Re: China's armed forces recruiting dozens of British ex military pilots
Northsky,
I fear your missing my point. Suppose we had been training them in Iraqi? Although ironically Saddam was on our side then. And those same RAF trained Iraqi AF students were probably still serving in 1990/91... Remember Desert Storm
Always assuming Saddam hadn't purged them...
Much like the potential situation now, should the Chinese get ideas and kick off. Although as nobody has been named or shamed for joining what appeared to be a South African operation. Jumping the gun and being judge jury and executionor maybe a little overly keen.

Look at what our Mod have been saying.

I have plenty of friends and others still in and serving. I have seen some of what they are saying

Re: China's armed forces recruiting dozens of British ex military pilots
If those individuals were effectively helping the Chinese to understand how best to kill their old colleagues/mates, for a small pot of gold, then that is disgusting, and those individuals should either be jailed upon return, or at least invited to remain with their new Chinese friends for the rest of their life, where they can spend their dirty money under a dictatorship. However, as always is the case, I suspect there is more to a story than what gets revealed. For example how would we feel about those same individuals if it later turns out that, unbeknownst to their new employers, a few were actually still employed by MI6?

The Daily Mail name the alleged pilot leading this as Keith Hartley.

Just like to say if your refering to the 1989 OSA that in fact parts of the 1911 OSA are still live. The part that captures the disclosure of information is in section 1.1 (c)

Is it okay to name former BAe Test Pilot Keith Hartley without any credible information on the actual source? The DM. ain't exactly the infinite home of Facts?

All we know Ladies & Gentlemen is that his brother 'JR' wrote a book about fishing!

Re: China's armed forces recruiting dozens of British ex military pilots
Have you done some basic googling and checked for yourself? It's all very accessible and very clear with much information etc etc .... and bad news for a front-line military power such as the UK.
