Thursday info for trip

Post by Neilg2173 » Tue Jul 18, 2017 6:07 pm

All, I am taking a group of special needs children to duxford on Thursday and we are planning on treating the pupils to a extra bit of enjoyment and will be planning on visiting mildenhall and lakenheath and showing them some planes at both bases, I am a regular to Johns field, is it ok to bring a mini bus on there? Also will anyone be able to give me a heads up as to any flying on the day about 5-7:30 pm when we are making or journey back to school. The group of pupils all have moderate learning difficulties but are really keen on aviation and attend my model club that we run at lunchtimes at school to help them with their fine and gross motor skills. This trip is a real treat to these youngsters as some will come from very deprived areas. Anyone able too give me the heads up will be gratefully received and if anyone is about Thursday come over and have a chat with pupils, they love to socialise with the public. Look forward to some replies

cheers Neil.

Neil
Hope the trip goes well on Thursday. Have you considered ringing or e-mailing the public relations officer at Mildenhall to explain what you are doing? Stress that they have special needs and seeing planes flying would be a brilliant end to their day and how helpful Duxford have been. If they know you are not asking to enter the base but taking them to one of the viewing areas then they could get some good public relations publicity from it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
Good luck
John
