Can this a/c be air refuelled? If not, what is item above cockpit area?

Yes looks like part of the conversion is fitting a refuelling receptacle.

Would they not fit it for refueling via a boom?

Thanks quid21. I saw the receptacle and thought it looked like the basket on the end of a hose method.
