I wouldnt believe a word of this. It sounds as thought they've just got wind of this, it happened ages ago. The Hawk was flying from Shawbury after being brought out of storage to Cranwell for a re spray in Reds colours. The right hand undercarrage leg collapsed on landing at Cranwell and it skidered into to the Air Traffic control car park. Cant remeber when exactly it happened but a quick google search should bring it up.

I can't find online as yet but this story relates to the publication of the accident report - not the accident itself.
You could claim it was newsworthy on that basis - although I'll reserve judgement until I actually see the report!

Lowlevel - the story has come out in the media as the accident report either has been published or is about to be published.
Depending on it's content that may well be newsworthy - especially as the Reds were involved. I'm not saying everyone will report it well but I can see where they're coming from.

Think the vital point to bear in mind is that there isn't so much as one "official" word anywhere in the story. It's all based on newspaper garbage and "unattributable sources" (ie- any random bloke that says something). So it's impossible to reach any conclusions about the indident. It's quite amusing that the Pprune users have rambled-on at great length without any evidence as to what actually happened in the first place.

Indeed, but still no clarification of the story! Hope someone passes-on the story from Air Clues when he writes it. Maybe they could send a copy to the Mirror too although they'd probably be wasting their time!

No clarification on detail but his post certainly says it all!
The new Air Clues is online btw - a damn good read it is too.

Many thanks - I used to read every word of Air Clues as an Air Cadet in the mid-late seventies, and had located issues going back to the early sixties - I wish I knew what happened to them, I suspect the victim of one of my Mother's "clear outs"
