A pair of F15's dogfighting over my house in Grantham this afternoon about 1230. Full reheat turns, climbs and even near stalls as they banked.

Hello folks, I've been a resident of Holbeach (near the RAF Holbeach range) for over 30 years but have never yet been woken by war planes using the nearby RAF Holbeach range, as the range doesn't open till 09:00. However, this week, something completely different happened. I was woken by warplanes at 06:53 on Mon, 07:05 on Tue and 06:54 on Thu. So, I phoned RAF Holbeach, who confirmed that none of this activity was related to the RAF Holbeach range. So, what's the answer? It seems like a new bunch of US pilots at Lakenheath have been allowed to practice dog-fighting over Holbeach before 7am. More news in due course.

The 493rd fighter squadron at Lakenheath were on a surge week, and were flying lots of Local missions, starting early most days.

Lucky guy. An F-15 alarm clock and living in the glorious Fenland round the Wash, a beautiful part of our County. As the others said surge week and the Wash is a good local place too practice early as fewer residents too disturb.

Is your house up for sale?

Sounds terrible. Aircraft over a range used by aircraft, whatever next! I wish I had 15s as my alarm clock when I was still commuting.

F-15 alarm clock sounds much better than being woken in the very late hours by the C-130s and Ospreys of the 352d SOG.

Either way, I love it!

Welcome Holbeachresident. Bear with it, everything comes to an end

Tornadoes, gone; Harriers, gone :( :(

Never mind, there is a whole year’s worth of petrol just waiting to be used after lockdown is over. Up at sparrowph...t and off five days a week, weather permitting.
