Rafale demo team accident, Cognac.

Post by PeteHemsley » Sun May 22, 2022 7:06 pm

Just been told by a friend at the show that 2 rafales have collided during the demo at Cognac airshow. According to him, both have landed and pilots are OK.

A bit of debris hit a house apparently but thankfully no one injured in the incident. Both planes landed and pilots safe.

Saw a picture online, one of the Rafales lost a part of its tail (the antenna bar in the top)

Ouch - that looks expensive, but thankfully it's only money. I'd guess they'll be roaded out to Bordeaux for spannering - doesn't look like the sort of work to be carried out anywhere except a MOB. #1 looks like it'll need a new wing and tail, and Is that a no-step symbol on the underside of the canard on #2?

good to hear the crews are safely on the ground :thumb:
