US Navy Super Hornets in India

Post by TouchDown » Mon May 23, 2022 11:31 am

From https://swarajyamag.com/news-brief/batt ... -next-week

"The battle for the Indian Navy's lucrative fighter jet deal will soon enter a new phase as Boeing's F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet is set to start flying
from the shore-based test facility at INS Hansa in Goa next week to showcase its capabilities to operate from Indian aircraft carriers.
The aircraft will showcase its ability to take off from a ski-jump platform of the kind that Indian aircraft carriers have."

Apparently the trials start today. Participating are F/A-18E 165861/AD-103 (VFA-106) and 165863/NH-411 (VFA-25).
Omega DC10 N974VV [AD9470] picked them up on the 16th as Salty Dog 11 flight (out of Pax River, I guess) and took them via Lajes, Sigonella and Al Udeid
to Goa, where they arrived on the 20th.
