Say what you like, but it does appear as though those pilots fought hard to avoid causing casualties on the ground...
Not all Russians are pro war with The Ukraine, I read.

But this IL76 was reported to be carrying war equipment to the invaders.

Regardless of which side they were on, they were aircrew, doing what they were told, and members of families.

Agree with Lowell and Arw. We can't be devoid of humanity!. We rescued German Aircrew from the Channel, that were trying to kill us, and they rescued our aircrew also. In the Falklands, we rescued and treated ejected Argentinian aircrew that were
bombing our ships and killing our troops. Soldiers have to obey orders!!!.

Soldiers only have to obey lawful orders. Invading another country is not a lawful order.

I couldn't agree more - unfortunately there are one or two who appear to be though. Sometimes personnel do not have a choice - they just do as ordered. Lives are lost and those left behind suffer regardless of which "side" they are on or whether their views match or conflict with their leaders.
