Next week activities??

Post by marco72 » Tue Apr 15, 2025 6:00 pm

Hello,

Like to visit UK/Wales (lakenheath and lfa7) next week.
Is there less activities expected from Thuesday Till Friday because of Eastern Monday?

Thank you!

Very difficult to say

Thursday should be ok - could be a quick climb day of course

No notam that i can see to say Lakenheath is closed for bank holiday Friday but I would think based flying would be limited?

These days every day is a school day!

Sorry not much help

Haven’t seen any Notams in place or any info on the Facebook groups that would limit flying in LFA7 it’s always hit & miss. I’m not too sure if LFA7 is available on Good Friday but not 100 % sure.

Best of luck on your visit!

Yes I can see that , just mentioning that LFA7 will be probably closed on Good Friday for anyone else looking , allthough I think LFA14 is open?

Thank you, indeed next week!

All others also thanks, just wanted to check if, known from previous years, maybe next week could be slow or even closures!

Oh I see , next Tuesday well I don't see why that would be quieter after a bank holiday- i thought you were asking about leading up to a bank holiday which is very different

I assume you have already booked accommodation so you will be the first to know !

I have not been to LFA7 - i gather it is an act of faith unless you are in the know or in the the clique- more fun to rock up and see what happens I reckon

Some crews take Easter leave I guess , I dont think bases are on blocked leave , best to check opening times on the notams sites or check the Coningsby, Marham threads as opening times are usually posted by Gary . Of course weather is a major factor for the low fly areas.

It is a bit like that. Amazing how some turn up to see something specific and then leave. I am never in the know, so just book an airb&b for the week that’s actually in the Loop, then I can choose to watch from the garden, with beer in hand, and toilet facilities on tap, rather than climb up a hill with my packed lunch and smothered in anti tick spray! Although saying that, nothing beats being above an F15 as it passes through cad.

Very nice beer gardens in and around the Loop , I like to stay in them these days, its more relaxing and you're closer to the noise 😂
