Must admit I thought the same Jem, seems to be just floating and as you say waiting for the touchdown.

This is something the L-29 is very capable of (Very, very slow flight, about 60kts I think!), and I think the East Germans used to do it quite often in training exercises to teach pilots what an approach with no gear is like.

I stand to be corrected, however!

I disagree Jem. I've seen other video on youtube of a similar 'stunt' so I'm inclined to say it's a deliberate piece of low flying.

Actually thinking about it, it was probably the same aircraft but from another angle. However I still think it was showmanship rather than a near wheels up.

Seems great flying to me - but incredible at how slow the plane will go (60kts noted by ChrisGlobe).

Without doubt the lowest pass I've ever seen. He must be less than 6" off the deck...

The Pilot is Cesar Falistocco. It is part of his display. He also does wing tip grass and water touch passes in a Rans S-10.

Well there you go. It was deliberate and he is barking mad!
Believe me, no-one in the piloting fraternity would be impressed by this piece of idiocy
Are you the World Piloting Fraternity spokesperson then? :D

This made me wonder if he's the same pilot who had this happen to him:

The Pilot was Dino Moline. He is part of the Rans Team. Cesar Falistocco is the team leader.

In this country, this flying would not be allowed. Now surely it is not beyond you to understand why that would be the case?
Very sad story, but to be honest, you're asking for it with a display name like that.
