Airfix Vulcan - Finally!

Post by reaper493 » Wed Jun 30, 2021 12:20 pm

Just had an email from Hannants that my back order has come in to stock of the new Vulcan, finally!

I was speaking to the lady who runs the NAM shop last week (Roz), she said she'd ordered 20 but would only get 8 on her first shipment, so I guess they're in high demand!!

No room for it at the moment so will have to wait for the house move, think I'll order a 2nd one, be rude not to!

Mike

EDIT Ordered a 2nd one and got notification to say one is available already, so that's 2 on there way to me, someone must have cancelled their B/o.

Lucky you - all the scans for the kit were made on XM594 at the museum and we are still waiting for our initial batch of reduced stock - two weeks after it was scheduled! :pop:

Indeed, Roz got an email from Hornby when I was talking to her, saying about the reduced stock etc. It looks like customers who ordered from Airfix direct got theirs today, so hopefully you have some in time for this weekend.

Yes, based on scans and photography carried out on XM594 at Newark.

An update from the museum's Twitter timeline:

"Well the invoice has arrived for the part delivery of the @Airfix #Vulcan kits, which means that we 'might' have a few on sale in the #NAMshop in time for Saturday's #Aeroboot #Aerojumble sale!
Scanned from #XM594

They've arrived.

The details and kit looks very good, far better than the original.
Instructions look pretty decent, there's parts needed only to line up the engines, so can be removed once installed, and there's some basic masks to use for the intakes as well.

Think they've over done it with the plastic bags though, few phone shots if anyone is interest.

Nice to see a mention on the plans & the eight that came into stock in the Museum Shop were all sold by close of play today!
