Re: Introduce yourselves

I've been meaning to introduce myself on here for a while now but keep forgetting

I'm Steve, currently serving in the RAF at Wado. Some of you met me there on Monday. I used to build plenty of kits in my childhood and over the last couple of years have gradually been getting back into it. I'm trying to build within a theme, mostly any 'special' aircraft, particuarly Tigermeet. Due to lack of space i try and keep all the kits to 1:72 but a 1:32 Tonka managed to find its way through the door...
Since being in the forum i've been picking up new techniques and i've tried them out on a Mirage 2000 (pics in the WIP section) and i'm currently working on a P-47, which i've had in the stash for years.
My favourite kit i've built to date, and the biggest, was a 1:48 B-24 Liberator which is now displayed in 9AEFs crewroom at RAF Church Fenton.

Builds in the pipeline;
Large Scale GB - 1:32 Luftwaffe Tigermeet Tornado
FAA GB - 1:72 Fairey Swordfish
Display Team and Solo GB - MiG-29 from the pair which collided at RIAT in 93 and a Hawk
CAG GB - 1:72 F/A-18 'Tomcatters' Super Hornet

I've also got 3 Phantoms, a Hawk 100, a Hellcat, a 1:72 Bf-109 and a 1:32 Bf-109, a Tigermeet Puma, a FW-190, Victor and a Chllenger 2 in the stash to do.

Oh and the missus has just informed me that she's going to put all my kits in the bin!!!! :'( Send re-inforcements quick!!!!

Evening All,

Thought i would say hello as i have started looking through this section abit more recently due to the time of year and have started finishing/ making some models since the christmas period. usally i am out taking photos at bases in the better weather, i try to get to mildenhall on a weekend every month or so and if i can the local Marham. I have been making on and off for the past 10 or so years. Now i am abit older been trying to improve on a few things and will be having a look through the tips section although i brush finish currently. I mostly build 1:72 due to size and space but do have a couple of 1:48's in the stash will have to dig them out and and take a pic of the collection which has grown over the past couple of years as i kept buying but not building  . Collection contains mostly jets but have got a few helicopter, my most recently finished model is a RAF Tucano.
Current builds.
1:72 Harrier T.10 just needs decals as they arrived the other day
1:72 Hawk RAAF now in painting.
1:72 S-3B Viking USN awaiting painting
1:72 Hunter RAF awaiting painting
1:72 Vulcan RAF needs painting
1:48 Jaguar RAF needs completing and painting.
i am now starting two more 1:72 F-16B which will be in RNAF NTM 2007 and a 1:72 Mirage F.1M Spanish Tiger meet 2006.
