The WAVE, Waddington

Post by viper3111 » Sun Nov 21, 2010 2:54 pm

For those of you who may not be aware, there is a cracking shop at the viewing area at RAF Waddington. They provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere along with good food and more importantly model kits.

John has recently been expanding his range of kits, so it only seemed right to post this thread for all updates and general inquiries regarding kits for sale in the model section.

I will now leave this to John (softbill man) to let us know what he is up to :thumb:

I would like to add to the comments already posted by John, about the WAVE. :)

I moved to Lincoln in 2005, & very quickly discovered the WAVE. Malcolm & his wife were trying to make a go of it, but purely a lack of people through the door, Malcs wife's illness, & allegedly bad attitude of Malc himself, made it look like the Sentry post was soon to be but a dim & distant memory. In Malcs defence, he was always ok with me, but I appreciate that many other members have had disagreements with him, but that is now in the past, & there it shall remain. :)

So what of the WAVE now?

Well, if you have not visited since John has taken over, you WILL be very pleasantly surprised

The place has been transformed into a welcoming, warm, & stocked to the rafters shop/cafe that could not be more different if it tried.

I have known John, his lovely sister, & not forgetting EM ;) for a good few months now, & you could not wish to meet more genuinely good, hardworking, & friendly people. Johns stock of aviation related goodies has to be seen to be believed, the cafe side, run by johns very hardworking sister, offers a range of very tasty snacks, hot food, & beverages, hot & cold.

I know that a few FC'ers have been to the "New WAVE", but if you havent, please do make the effort, you are assured of a very warm welcome, friendly banter, & plenty of goodies to remind you of your time at the WAVE.

John will continue to take the WAVE from strength to stength, but he needs all of our help to do it, so if you have not been, make sure you get down to WAVE very soon. :)

And dont forget, you will get to meet the legend that is "Spike" :Wow: ;)

I heard about the new ownership at the wave a while ago and I`m glad that the gift shop is still in place. :thumb:

Being the resident diecast `expert` on here, , I will look forward to visiting soon and viewing your stock of metal while chomping on a burger. ;) :thumb:

I feel a whistle stop tour of Scapton, Coningsby and Waddington coming on..... Unless the Reds move to Waddington by then, but I presume they still will practise over Scampton?
I am glad to see you are making a go of it at the WAVE, i must admit I do buy my kits from Graham @ relish models and my local model store in Spalding; however it is good to see you have some great suport on here and long may it continue.
