I think a work in progress section would be a good idea Shaun

Re: What builds are on your bench
Shaun,I notice you have a few of the Reeves acrylic tubes on your bench next to your Clear, what do you use those for if you don't mind me asking.

Re: What builds are on your bench
I whent down to the local art shop to buy some decent paint brushes and they had the reeves paint on special for 1quid a tube so I bought the most used colours which are red, silver, white, yellow, blue and black. It said on the tube that will cover pretty much all surfaces in the craft world including plastic/styrene. So I thought I would give them a go. I only realy use them for instruments and small details. They are acrylics and water down realy nicely, though I havnt tried to spray them yet (no real call for them yet). They are pigment rich and very bright so great for little details that need to stand out. If you can get them as cheap as I did there is a lot of paint for your money and saves cracking open the tinlets just to paint a couple of instuments.

Thanks for your reply Shaun, I have quite a few of these as well and I wondered if they would be ok on plastic kits, as you said they are pigment rich and give good cover when brushed, I think I will give them a go on cockpit details etc, regards Paul.

Re: What builds are on your bench
As I was explaining to Mr Maher earlier on today, my stepson is staying this weekend and we went to Hendon and bought a Revell 1/72 JU87 Stuka! It's gonna be like the blind leading the blind I think x
Re: What builds are on your bench
At the moment I've got
1/72 Italeri Spit IX
1/48 Airfix Buccaneer with neomega cockpit, model alliance decals and eduard etch (not started yet)
1/24 Trumpeter Spit V
I've been told by Ben that I have to do the Buccaneer as a WiP so I'll be interested in a WiP section aswell.

Re: What builds are on your bench
I would like to see the buccanneer done as a WIP as well, the work in progress section is now on the modeling updates section below the stickies, just start a new topic for your build and keep replying to it as you go along.

Re: What builds are on your bench
My parents came this weekend to drop off a new printer and they brought a wooden board so I'm raring to go now. Just got to finish the Spit but could start work slowly on the Bucc when I'm bored of the Spit.

Hasegawa 48th F-4E/J JASDF Kai phantom 'Panthers' (currently in the WIP section)
Re: What builds are on your bench
1:48 Trumpeter Seahawk + Eduard etch., RNHF scheme.
1:48 Trumpeter Sea Fury + Eduard etch, undecided on scheme, but possibly as above.
1:48 Trumpeter Wyvern + Eduard etch, undecided on scheme.
1:48 Airfix Seafire FR46/47 - acquired on ebaY this evening
That's enough wing folders to keep me happy for a while, although 1:48 Gannet, Firefly and Sea Vixen certainly on the cards.

Re: What builds are on your bench
Highlandsniper, I just picked up the classic airframes 48th Gannet. Its a beautiful kit and the resin is so crisply molded. Highly recommended

Re: What builds are on your bench
It's high on my list of foldy-wingy-thingys. All I need now is a decent Buccaneer in 1:48 (that goes together better than that from Airfix) and in 1:32.
Looking forward to the Airfix 1:48 Sea Vixen - hope they've got it right.

Re: What builds are on your bench
Not built anything in a long time, but the re-release of Hasegawas RN Phantom FG1 in 1/48, did tempt me. Hence I have 3 all sitting in the boxes waiting for the right moment.
Plus 2 Fujimi 1/72 Fg1s, and 2 FGR2s, ( in each case one without RWR fin and 1 with) and a Hasegawawa F-4E again in 1/72,
If they ever happen, I have decals for 337 Miras Ghost machine from 2005 and 92 Sqns blue Toom from 1991.
( and non Phantom related , 1/48 Airfix Bucc, 1/72 Vulcan , Su25 and Super Mystere. All of which have been hanging around forever)

Re: What builds are on your bench
Been away from modelling for about 6 years now. However I have a few aircraft to build and a few on on tHe bench. Currently I have airfix 1/48 tornado f3,italeri f18E and revell typhoon on the bench. Not sure whether to bin the f3 as the kit is pants and have never done rescribing before
Re: What builds are on your bench
Welcome back to the hobby alnewhaven and peteHemsley
, I would keep the F.3 if its unstarted as it is quite a sort after kit. As for your F-4's alnewhaven they are very nice kits, I have one my self to build. I hope we will see the finished kits in the 'finished builds' section

Re: What builds are on your bench

Re: What builds are on your bench
My first plastic kits in over 20 years were delivered today. Have I bitten off more than I can chew??

If anyone has made these kits before, any advice will be welcome to this born again newbie....
