Over 200 decals applied so far and I don't think I'm even half way through, my Left eye is pointing West, and my Right one South East.

It's a slow but rewarding stage of the build as the a/c starts to get a bit of life into it. Another 3-4 nights of decaling lie ahead :'(

I had the same thing with my Kai F-4, ive never seen so many decals on one air frame. But as you say it is quite rewarding :thumb:

Just the one photo for now, just to back up all my talk and to give you an impression of the amount of decals on this build.

Image

I noticed late last night and the placement instructions supplied with the Icarus stencil decals has a few mistakes on it and one of those is a glaring one. The Red strip that goes over the fuselage is shown in the wrong place on the instructions which in turn throws all the stencils on the spine out of place as well, as you use the Red strip as a reference point. The Red line that I have put on the pic below is where Icarus states it should go, which is 3 feet in real scale behind where it should be. Luckily I had a spare Red stripe decal left over from last years RF-4E build and have corrected the mistake.

Did you see any? I was there in 1996 and saw loads of F-4's and A7's fly along the coast. Got the ferry from Zante Town to Kyllini on the Peloponnese in order to get to Athens and the F-4's and A7's would buzz the boat at 100ft, one of the boat crew told me that he had seen then actualy fly below deck height at times

As promised, with the main decaling finished my attention has now turned to the loadout/stores namely the GBU's/Mavericks and Litening pod, so while they are taking shape a few pics to show the amount of decals on this, still another 80+ to go on the pylons/and stores.

Once the pylons have been decaled up I will then seal them all in with a coat of Klear before applying the washes and weathering effects.

Decaling finally complete  473 to be exact with only one casualty.

The decals have been sealed in with a coat of Klear and has cured for 72 hours, so will start panel washing tonight.

All the sub assemblies have been finished up to final build stage as well(except for one lot of wing stores) so should have this one finished this week.

Progress has been very slow on this since the last update, but I'm happy to announce that it is now in it's finished state except for a couple of AGM65's which I'm currently in the middle of doing.

Pictures soon
