Since the start of "crap factor" I have started work on a MK.1 Hurricane, and am supervising the build
of a Vb Spitfire by my 12 yr old. The Hurricane will be finished in 607sqn codes and I think the Spitfire
will be in SEAC markings.
with the advent of winter I should think this section will get alot busier. BTW - does anyone know a
decal company that does code letters & serials in 48th scale?

Dependant on the style there are quite a few. Some of these are; Pegasus, Tally ho and ventura. The best thing you can do is go to Hanntants web site and tap into there search bar "serials" with 1/48 in the scale bar and you will get quite a long list.
Hope this helps

Currently on my build bench is a 1/144th Apache, thought it's still boxed.

Debating whether it's worth having a quick go at it :)

Not exactly "on the bench" but I'm currently awaiting delivery of of Hobby Boss 1/72 HAF A-7H Corsair so I can attempt to build this beauty.

Have a trip scheduled to a nearby hobby store to pick up all the necessities later this week.

I'll try to do my very best - as always  but don't get you rhopes up too high as this will be my first kit after an almost 30 year long break from modelling. Don't know if I'll be able to post progress pictures but at least I hope to present the finished kit later here.

Cheers

Just to explain - 1:33 is a standard scale for most carton airplane models. There are also 1:50, 1:100 and 1:200 (for ships) scales but not as popular as 1:33.

Nice, I look forward to seeing the finished model. Mine are looking a bit lonely on the finished builds section.

A-4K Late70's the original team before Kiwi Red.

This is the A-4K in 1/48th coverted from the Hasegawa A-4E,that i am working on for the Aerobatic Sig for our 2009 presentation. No major filling just some annoying filling along the left hand wing root.Which has been highlighted in many revues. And also by none other than Dave Augnst, who some of you may know.

I must get a move on with this.

Image

I have rebuilt the bang seat which is awfull.Basically i made the seat pads from Play-do,which hardens in a couple of days. And can be formed into many shapes. The seat comes in two side by side parts. So i cut out a piece of 1000 Plastic card and placed that over the join, voila.I have also stolen a RBF Tag from an Eduard fret for this seat as well. The placement is strange for the RBF tag,but i have checked many refernces and it is indeed right.Lastly the seat colours appear to have changed from grey to black at some point,so i may have this wrong. But again i have checked a source in New Zealand.
