Revell 1/72 Avro Shackleton MR.Mk.3 WR971
Here's a link to the review of the kit with history of the MR.3 also https://dazjg1971.blogspot.com/2019/10/ ... -avro.html
And my article about the aircraft crewed by my late Grandfather, which includes some details on why I'm depicting this particular MR.3 https://myaviationandgeneralpictures.bl ... -late.html
I'll post images as I progress with the build.

Nice to see thw WIP thread running again, keep it up.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Looking forward to see how this turns out. The Shackleton was always my all-time favourite aircraft, particularly the MR.3, and I have the same kit languishing in a cupboard...
Keep up the good work!

Re: Revell 1/72 Avro Shackleton MR.Mk.3 WR971
Thanks everyone. The Shackleton is pretty special to me as my late Grandfather crewed them, and had a soft spot for them. WR971, the subject of this model was the only MR.3 he crewed, so '971 was a dead cert to depict.
And one complete fuselage. Now onto the flying surfaces.

Work is progressing on the Shack. She's been painted, and already for decalling. Images to follow later

Looking very good. Loved the Shackletons when I used to see/hear them at my grandparents house 8n Elgin.
Great sound at night in particular.
Ah, those were the days....
