I think you can get a detail 'add on' set from italeri itself for there A-10, not sure what its like as once again this was another kit I was pondering

Its about as expensive as the kit but from the picture it looks quite cool

I had the detail set for the Italeri build. If i do some photos later I will dig it out to show you what you get with it...

I know it included

PE fret for the cockpit
Resin Engine (x1)
GAU-8A canon and trolley to mount it on.

You know you have nothing better to do when you realise you have been watching Logans Run all afternoon

I am getting on with some weathering now and should have a pic up soon. I am using the Tamiya `make up box` weathering set. It is quite good ,now I know how to use it

Guys,

We have spoke about the Italeri Add on kit, I have taken a few pics of my rather poor Italeri A-10, It will give you some idea what is included in the detail set...

Anyway,

Small progress so far on the Hobby boss kit; just a selection of weapons included in the kit...

I have ordered the Aires cockpit which hopefully should arrive in the week so more to follow soon!

Reasonably happy so far. I think I will have another go at building this one day as I realy enjoy the subject and think I can do better.

Have you tried applying some humbrol maskol over silver then painting over it to emulate the chipping?

Also with any paint you will have to thin it downso it is not too thick in order for it to apply proerly..

An interesting subject though, looks really good

Finally got round to starting a thread on this. The kit is the one I won from the last model comp so I thought it would be fitting to enter it into this one.
Box image is shamelessly stolen off Shaun's thread for the last comp

Started with the engine which came in 6 pieces.

Next built up the interior and the bomb-bay

Gave everything a wash and then stuck it all together.

Didn't like doing the turret as its all such a tight squeeze and really fragile.

Tail wheel assembly complete with machine gun!

At the moment Im just getting on with the sanding and getting everything ready to paint.
It will have its wings folded and possible canopy open I've not decided yet.

It appears the `wiff` is contagious

My A-10 will be as well

I`m working on the base at the moment. I might do a bit more on the build tomorrow. Not much to do on a Sunday now there is no Grand Prix

I dont know where I am going to put this when it is finished

and I have just gone and got my self a Valkyrie

James - I do want to have a go with the masking in the future but its a beyond me at the moment. For the moment I will cover myself by saying the leading edge is not metal and is in fact a primitive radar absorbent material

Finally significant progress to report, the cockpit section and nose gear bay is all but finished (bar ejection seats), and I've started work on the main gear bay.

However, I realise I keep failing to produce the photos I promise, so as a motivation to myself, I'll say that if I don't get the photos online by this evening, then I'll withdraw from the competition, for being too incompetent!
