James V's Group build contribution has ....been deferred!
Gents...
My thoughts were to build something simple and something that I have in the stash. Currently I am building an F-22 for a Mag review, an F-105G for the Nationals for my model group, and the 1/32 Strike Eagle (I'll update that tomorrow!) for the Lakenheath group... So in short I wanted to do something that is relatively easy to build, I can do in the timescale (which the Eagle is going to fail miserably at) and is slightly different.
So here we go...
I have always been fond of this plane, and it was definately retired before its time in 2007, but in my opinion it served the country well...
Gents I present the BAC Jaguar GR1, Operation Desert Storm c.1991.
Anybody who has not seen this link before should view it; the only time when listening to Whitesnake is deemed to be cool!

I bought this kit a while ago and it is still up in the loft however it has alll the resin bits and a aluminium turned pitot tube on the front of the plane... It is my intention to add appropriate weathering and try to demonstrate how this is achieved along the way - I Hope my lessons are worthwhile!
While this kit has been covered an awful lot on other sites and a popular build, it is about the only thing I can think that I will build in the allocated time!
Other alternatives were
1/32 F-4 Phantom C/D
1/48th TSR2 (What If)
1/32 F-3 Tornado (but lets face it anyone who has even looked at this kit would realise that even 3 months full time isn’t long enough!)
Some to follow soon, I am just enjoying watching you lot start, it’s nice to see a load of modellers joining in!

Guys,
Couple of Pictures for you...
I did notice that I did not have a cockpit for this or bulged wheels so I might have to sort that out!
More to follow soon hopefully... Seeign as we have 3 months, this will be one to do in the back ground!

cheers Shaun,
I also wanted to aim to make this WIP into a session to explore a few techniques.. It depends how much time I have but I am sure weathering could be shown here, paint chips, etc... I do not expect to win the comp at all but be nice to take part

Hmm, built that kit before and it was absolutely horrible, nothing fitted properly and lots of sanding to do, hope yours is a bit better.

Guys,
really sorry but I will have to kill the Jaguar project off for the moment. If I am honest it is too much ****'ing around witht he wings which I just d not have the inclination to do.. I will however, be contributing a build which I will add here in a few mins!

It'll be built soon enough, I just do not have the patiece to add the falps at the moment, I have a goal to finish the Eagle and this new build before the end of the year! So here we go....
Re: James V's Group build contribution has ....been deferred!
I am looking forward to this one very much James.
I've got a 1:72 Jag that I want to finish in Desert Storm colours so your build will give
me some very good pointers.
