Gloster Meteor Mk 4

This is my build of Hong Kong Models 32nd "Meat-box".It was a simple kit to build ,and I had no major fit problems .I used the Xtradecal sheet to depict an aircraft of No63 sqn July 1948.I can highly recommend this kit ,and hopefully they will be producing a T7 variant in the future.

That is a very nice finish and the model looks great.

May I suggest you add a wash to the model and this will enhance the panel lines?

Mods/Admin, need to move this to the gallery section so that more members can view it.

Very nice! Personally I prefer the "as new" look.........often people overdo the weathering!......e.g.Naval aircraft were usually maintained to a very high standard, and aircraft tended to be well looked after!

Thanks ,I normally do a wash on the panel lines ,but the panel and rivet detail on this kit looks fine without a wash, I think it would overdo it somewhat.

Looks to be a very nice kit and you have done a smashing job of it. I would love one of these kits, and hopefully will get one soon

Re Panel lines, I do agree that on the scale and with a silver finish that it is not really required. Gentle tonal variations add a lot more scale and realism than that of a wash; after all, on a real aircraft with a silver/NMF finish, you do not see mass shadows forming in the panel recesses.

This is the first time I have seen some shots of the 1/45 Javelin on FC

I/we would love to see some more (I have just bought this for my youngest nephew as his first 'big scale' build)
