General modelling gallery

Post by viper3111 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 6:57 pm

OK as there are a few people who like the idea of a general modelling section I am happy to trial this for a month or so. If you would like to post a 'general' model on this gallery then please do so by replying to this thread. If you would like to post any civil aircraft then we have a whole model section over on our sister forum CA.

If you are unsure about if you can post your model then please PM me, but basically this is for cars, ships, trains, etc.

That's very impressive, remarkable detailed and weathered look.

I cheated with the zimmerit on this one, its actually a set of PE brass from Eduard :blush: with a bit of filler for continuity on the edges.

It is a kit:

£195.00 of resin, brass etc! Well worth it!

This guy (Howard Whitehead) prodcues some fantastic kits!

Superb mate, some really great kits there :cool: Shame the Scammell Crusader is discontinued though, would've made a nice model in the military variant :thumb:

I finally finished my panzer :clap:
I like doing the odd tank as it gets all of the weathering out of my system so I throw everything at them-rust, mud, dirt, grease and smoke.

Any way here it is with my elefant

Tamiya 1/12th scale Williams Renault FW14B

Post by aviationandy » Sun Sep 26, 2010 4:31 pm

My modelling mojo was re-discovered on purchasing this kit :thumbs:

It is a kit I have wanted for many years, but I always deemed it too expensive, however, e bay to the rescue, a bargain price, & andy adds it to his collection. :thumb:

Instruction manual missing :O , no problem, a post on BM results in a set of instructions through the letterbox :clap:

I have thoroughly enjoyed making this kit, my mojo is back with a vengeance. :D

Anyway, for your perusal, especially Viper's ;) my version of Nigel Mansell's world championship winning car. :)

That looks really good andy. I've also got an old lotus to do and that might just inspire me to start. (after the model comp of course)

Thankyou for your kind words. :)

Balders, I cracked on with this kit, so about 6 weeks on & off, as the mojo was back in floods, so really put the hours in. :thumbs:

The cigarette sponsor decals came from a company called Modelworks, here's the link;

http://www.modelworks.co.uk/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They do the whole range of cigarette brands, in all the popular scales, & also have kit specific sets. They cost me about 8 quid delivered, but they really do finish the model off.

I am so inspired by the build, & of course, the usual Tamiya quality, that I am now on the look out for Mclaren & Ferrari kits also produced in this scale.

Many thanks for the comments so far... :)
