Highlights of the year.

Post by Flyingmonster » Sat Dec 17, 2011 1:03 pm

Hi all!

I am looking at compiling a 'Highlights of the Year' post in the same format of the Weekly Highlights :thumb:

What I am looking for is your suggestions of 'Highlights' this year.

I have a list that includes the U2's and B52 at Fairford, Swedes and A10s at Lakenheath and a few rare visitors weve had :thumb:

Any suggestion is welcome :thumb:
Cheers

How about a few photos from the lesser photographed bases? Culdrose, Yeovilton, Linton-on-Ouse, etc.

How about Putting the year in catogories. Ie 1) Visitors 2) Airshows 3) Operational 4) Ranges 5) Ott 6) Nostelgic. Just a few ideas, other wise you could end up with 100s of worthy posts but no consistency

I like that idea too, but I think there should be a highlight for each section in the 'Spotters Area Serials etc,' so the highlights for the North West, South West, Wales, South East, etc. Then pretty much every highlight will be covered.
A highlight for someone who lives near Coningsby will be very different to a person who lives near somewhere like Brize Norton, or Culdrose, so that's why I think there should be highlights from each area. :)

The A-10 demo at RIAT on the Friday was possibly the best flying act I saw in 2011. The Northolt night shoots are always good fun, not the cheapest but I always come away with a big smile on my face.

Does the highlight have to be UK linked because the Centennial of US Naval avaition was the highlight for me?
