1/144 Nimrod and Islander

I know its a MR2 but still if we use 1/144 it could be useful!

Mark as John has said we went with 1/144 but some may have to be 1/72 due to availability

John thats superb! Now all we need to do is work out how we have the Models Do we want the m on the Runway or placed along part of the map so you can see the Airfield and also the Models?

Scale still seems to be the key issue.

- 1/72 has the range of aircraft kits, but the scale airfield would still be huge (and to have larger aircraft may not be practical - a Vulcan would probably take up 20-25 grid squares on that map)
- 1/144 would be good, but the range of aircraft kits is somewhat limited I think.

Im thinking they could be placed on all the dispersal points, with 3 or 4 small vulcans sat on the scramble pads if possible, but looking at the map i have, there should be lots of room for aircraft and make it more interesting if they are placed around the airfield. Especially if we can make the diorama base much larger than the map.

You can. It started as a way to get my head round the scale, but I figured it may be helpful for planning.

It is indeed progressing! Me and John (As well as a few others) have the plans and are just waiting to hear back from a few people
