Another idea linked to the Novice GB would be a "Starter Kit" Group Build.

Ok Gents I have been looking at GBs and want your opinion...

- Should we keep the suggested GBs and reschedule them?
- Delete them and start again and do one at a time?

I would really appreciate your input :thumb: :thumb:

I will check the Calendar. I moved it to the Mods section while cleaning up a bit.

I've noticed that nothing much has been said about the Cold War GB which is down to have started 2 days ago. As the Cold War is a very broad subject, i'm wondering is there a date range and are we limiting it to certain areas/conflicts? For example, i've got kits of F-51 Mustangs from the Korean War, which fall within the dates of the Cold War, and is seen as a Cold War Conflict. Vietnam also falls into that category. Would they be included, or are we thinking more, eg NATO - Warsaw Pact in Europe?

Well to be honest, the wider the scope of the GB, the more people would likely come forward with a build to add. The Cold War, on paper, lasted from 1945 to 1991, when the Soviet Union collapsed. So you can pretty much include everything that happened in that time period, as most ultimately link back to the tensions between east and west.

All the conflicts are listed here. Wiki is your friend.

Sounds good to me!! Totally agree about a wider scope for more options! :thumb:

Shall we say we can start it tonight at 2359 and extend it a month as im sure people will want some breathing space with the number we have going on? :thumb:

I think thats a good idea, and also allows me to build more kits. I'm not doing any 1/48 kits for a while as they take me too long  and I want to get the pile of kits turned into completed models, so i'm going back to 1/72 for a while.

One question that i've not seen asked on here before, if you're building a kit on one forum for a GB, which is running at the same time and falls under the category of a GB on here, can it be posted on here as well?

Pushing your luck!

If it fits in the time scale and subject then I have no objections! :thumb:

Well i've dug some kits out for this GB. All will be bare metal and sprayed out of a can, for speed and ease. So far i've got a 56Sqn Lightning F6, a 74Sqn Lightning F6, a MiG-21, MiG-19, F-86 and F-51. Should keep me going for a while

I haven't been around for a while and was looking in on the site to perhaps joining in again.

I remember not being able to find a proposed GB list previously and I am strugglingto find one again.

Does a list exist? Where can I find it?

Cheers

Hi Mos,

I`m afraid the GB`s on here kinda went out the window a bit as Flyingmonster had a few things to sort out off forum.

Here`s the list as it was...

1st Feb - 15th April
UK Air Defence Past and Present (Including Support)

1st April - 15th June
Cold War Aircraft (All Countries involved)

1st June - 15th August
Photo Reconnaissance Aircraft

1st August - 15th October
Tiger Meet (Including WHIFS)

1st October - 31st December
Gulf War 1 (All Countries involved)

We also have the Falklands 30th Anniversary GB - 2nd April 2012 - 14th June 2012. This can run alongside as a serparate GB

Some got done and other incorporated into a bigger GB subject.

I`m the `substitute teacher` for now and plan to get the next GB underway after crimbo which I think will be a what if affair, but another poll might be in order in case thats not what the masses want.
