UK Air Defence Past and Present (Including Support)

Post by Flyingmonster » Mon Jan 30, 2012 12:55 pm

With this GB approaching fast I thought we can get the thread started.

This build can incorporate any UK Air Defence Past and Present (Including Support) - this can be from a Sopwith Camel to a E3D. As long as it is connected to UK Air Defence.

It will be running from 01/02/12 - 15/04/12

If you are taking part in this one just add to the thread and I will create a list :thumb:

Just to throw a spanner in the works Jamie, , does this include types from other air forces as they were technically over here to serve in the defence of the UK.

The American types are the obvious ones, but you have to remember that back in the 50`s the Canadians were asked to send over their F-86`s to plug a gap in the UK`s air defence as the RAF had a shortfall of fighter aircraft for the task believe it or not....!

Sound familiar....

Only asking as the above opens up a lot of types to be made and I`m not sure if the vote was really for RAF types only?

Tentatively throwing my hat in the ring with a 43 sqn Phantom, XV571/A. But i seem to be on a bit of a downer just now! Not lost my mojo(yet!) but seems that other things are taking up my time too much just now!

I was looking at what I had in my stash for this GB and this was at the bottom of the pile. If it doesn't clash with what others are building then i'll build these in age order.

I'm sorta in for this. It's such a broad category that I can't decide what to build for it.

I've got a Lightning that might be a good idea for it, just need to get decals for it.

Just realised I could enter my camo `Tiger` into this one. Everyone alright with that as although I am participating in this GB, I never stated my intentions.

Jamie, same question as for the FC comp, is there going to be an independent thread to post your finished builds.

I don't see there being a problem with it, in fact I welcome it to what has been a very quiet GB compared to the last one. I'm hoping a can squeeze in another build in the form of a Spitfire, once I get this Mosquito finished.
