Hi all, called in for an hour on Weds on my way back from Cosford to see what was about and went to CG4 not being a regular visitor, I soon attracted the attention of amember of the local constabulary.
I have to say after a few of the near horror stories I have seen posted of some peoples meetings with the police from both sides of the fence , I was pleasently suprised by the officers courteous manner and explanation of why they took an intrest in me and whilst going to great lengths to point out that I was doing nothing wrong he did explain that asking for details is a big help to them in thier day to day security of the Shawbury perimeter.
Pity I did not get said PCs number as a pat on the back was due!
Cheers Gareth

Nice Mr Policeman!
Re: Nice Mr Policeman!
I also got a visit from the Police at Shawbury. Both were very polite and chatty. They asked if I minded if they did some checks (car reg number etc) and said my details would be logged and if I was seen again they would'nt bother me.
Why can't they all be like that?

Hi,
I visited Shawbury today and although I have been a number of times, I have only been approached by their own security until today. The local police appeared and were very polite, explaining why they wanted to check my details etc. and were quite chatty and pleasant to talk to.
Nice to see someone in authority with good manners
Colin.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Re: Nice Mr Policeman!
Easy to find out. I'm guessing he did either a S.61 stop and account or a S.44 terrorism stop .Either way you have up to a year to get the copy from the Police, which will have yours and his details on,and then you can say thanks.
