Cambridge Airports future ?

Post by Rhubarb » Tue Apr 09, 2024 12:48 am

Hi all,
Last time I visited Cambridge around 2013, I spoke to some locals who believed the airport would be closing at some time in the future? They said that it had been agreed with/through Cambridge Council ? This was because of a desperate need for building land in Cambridge they said. It is of course very close to central Cambridge. But what of Marshalls Aviation ? I took their comments with a pinch of salt at the time. Is there any validity in there comment at all ?
Cheers

Marshall’s are planning to move to Cranfield in years to come once Cambridge closes, that has been a plan for quite a few years. Looks to be from 2027, so only a few years away.

I believe dirt has been cut to start building new apron and hangarage. It's going to be a sad day when it comes. I have lived by it all my life.
